  • Don’t DIY, Rent a Photo Booth
  • If you’re the crafty type, you might be thinking about DIY-ing the photo booth experience for your event. Sure, you could throw up a background, put out some props, and set up a camera and get some good images, but if you really want to grab the attention of your audience and encourage them to actually interact with the photo booth, capture some great images – and most importantly, save yourself a lot of hassle, skip the DIY route and make arrangements for a photo booth rental, instead. From 360 photo booth rentals to portable photo booth rentals, and more, there are several different options that you can rent.

  • Decide What You Want
  • Photo booths have been around for decades, but they’ve come a long way since the 1970s. While having so many options to choose from is definitely a good thing, it can also be a little overwhelming. That said, don’t just go and randomly rent just any photo booth; instead, take the time to think about what it is that you want. Ask yourself what kind of experience you’d like to offer and what you hope to achieve with your photo booth. For instance, if you’re hosting a classy event where people will be dressed to impress, a mirror photo booth or a 360 photo booth would be a great choice.

  • Think About the Timeline
  • The standard time period for photo booth rentals is four hours. You can add additional hours on if you’d like, but you’ll have to pay extra. That said, consider the timeline of your event when you’re planning out the rental. For instance, instead of having the rental begin at the start of your event, it might be better to bring it in an hour after things have started, or a period when guests will be more inclined to interact with it. This way, you won’t end up paying for unused hours or have to pay extra for additional hours.

  • Get Creative with Props and Backdrops
  • Photo booths are attention-grabbing on their own – especially the new, innovative options. That said, however, if you really want to ensure that your guests will interact with your photo booth rental and have as much fun as possible, take the time to put some creativity into your props and backdrops, as it’s these elements that are going to make or break the photo booth experience.

  • Offer Pens and Paper
  • Include pens and paper with a table or shelf near your photo booth. Guests can use the pen and paper to jot down any pertinent information that the photo booth attendant might need; names, phone numbers, email addressed, etc. By including pens and paper, you’ll save your guests from having to scramble to find what they need to jot down the info they need to share

  • Do Both Digital and Physical Images
  • Both digital and physical images offer advantages, but if you choose one over the other, you’re going to miss out on the benefits that they one you didn’t go with offers. With digital photos, you can email the images and instantly share them via email, social media, etc. You can have the option to create video clips and gifs, too. With a physical images, you won’t have to deal with scrolling through endless images to find the ones you want. By offering both options, you and your guests can experience the benefits that both worlds offer.

  • Consider the Location
  • Don’t just have your photo booth placed anywhere; arrange to have it parked in the most convenient location. Consider the layout of your venue and place it in a spot where it will be visible and easily accessible, yet where it won’t interfere with other activities – and other activities won’t interfere with it. For example, you won’t want to place it near the dance floor, next to the buffet line, or in close proximity to the DJ, for example.

  • Offer Favors
  • The photos that guests will be taking make for great favors themselves; however, you can take things up a notch by offering something a little extra. For instance, consider offering frames or mini photo albums that guests can use to put their photos in. Not only would these ideas enhance your favors, but they provide guests with a convenient place to store the images they’ll be capturing at your event.

  • Encourage Social Media Posting
  • Finally, encourage your guests to share the images they take in the photo booth on their social media accounts. Some photo booth rental companies offer the ability to upload photos right from the photo booth to social media accounts. Instantly sharing the images on social media channels is beneficial for all types of events; however, it’s particularly beneficial for business owners, as it’s a great way to attract more attention to your event, and is an excellent way to reach a larger audience, boost awareness of your brand, attract more customers, and ultimately, boost your overall success.
